Our government has created the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund, authorized under the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act of 2021, to provide billions of dollars to States to support our schools to safely reopen and sustain safe operations of all schools, while meeting academic, social, emotional, and mental health needs of students resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.
